Itz is amazing a) how close the votes are b) how predictable the votes are 1/ per region 2 / per EF member.
I just look at the posting maps and thing, thank goodness I dont' live in those regions.

Quite a few areas that I would have expected to vote no voted yes.

Meanwhile several hundred people gathered for "spontaneous" demonstrations against the result in Zürich and Bern.
So I guess this culture of not accepting a result has reached Switzerland too.

I suppose fancy dress shops like this Swiss one may need to rethink or put in a caveat such as - only to be worn for fun: | The following 2 users would like to thank Tom1234 for this useful post:

I just look at the posting maps and thing, thank goodness I dont' live in those regions. | | | | | Would you please go into details? Asking honestly, where's the predictability? In the vote maps I see:
1 - No for Burka-ban on Geneva, Bern, Basel City, Zurich, Appenzell outer(yes, bad translation) and Graubunden. Everyone else, YES. It looks like the cantons with cities voted NO. AR and GR, who knows?
2 - Free trade with Indonesia: Romandie and Basel City NO, the rest YES. I simply don't understand why there's a regional difference. Just because the listened someone will say yes, they voted no?
3 -E-ID every canton voted No. https://www.20min.ch/story/so-hat-di...t-818997545727
Just for laughs, couple men acting as knights in white armor have jumped to tell they'll pay the fines for women wearing burkas in CH. Funny thing it's always men... https://www.20min.ch/story/izrs-will...n-792329379273 | This user would like to thank Axa for this useful post:

| | | | | Wasn't AR the canton that almost went to war against nude hikers?
So a bit of a flip flop on whether people should be allowed to wear what they want?

I must say, I was expecting more of an international reaction over this. I remember the outcry over the Minaret ban decade or so ago! As it has been, it's barely made a ripple.
Also interesting (to me in my ignorance at least) it wasn't a Burka ban, rather a ban on face coverings... Does this mean I don't need to wear my face mask anymore?! | The following 4 users would like to thank TonyClifton for this useful post:

It is a face covering ban, burka is not mentioned. But one important exclusion is masks required for health reasons.
And the vote doesn’t make it the law, each of the cantons has two years to adopt the federal provisions into cantonal law. I sincerely hope the ‘health reasons exception’ will be moot in two years time.
