I like the way there is a male-female balance in the Federal Council. I think they need a token African or ex-Yugoslavian.

The gender equality at the top of the Swiss political system seems strange, given the problems working mothers face (for example, school schedules). Reading Women in the workforce -- Female power in The Economist I came across: I am moderately curious (but not enough to do the work ) as to how many of the federal councilors have children.

Widmer has three children, Calmy two, Leuthard is childless.
