Right you are of course, but in a country where people start to look angrily at the watch when a train is delayed by three minutes and 50 seconds, different expectations prevail

as outgoing traffic minister Leuenberger put it "infrastructure is the field where this country has to be superior"

The train driver has been convicted of homicide and negligence.

If the fine is his only penalty, it seems to be little more than a 'slap on the wrist'.

I suppose someone has to be held to blame but it is possible that many other factors contributed to the driver's speed. e.g. perceived/actual pressure from his employers.

I find it difficult to believe he has been found guilty of homicide, rather "fahrlässige Tötung" (negligent killing)?
