Parking ticket

2 Questions;

# 1 If the snow covered up the numbers on the pavement,and I could not see which place to pay for, why should I be charged?
#2 Isn't the city required to clean the snow, and if they didn't then I should be vindicated?

Anybody know/agree?

1) Yes, you knew you had to pay, a little effort would have uncovered the correct number.

2) The snow may have freshly settled, they cannot be expected to be at every parking spot as soon as it snows...therefore the numbers will be covered up for a while at least...

Pretty lame mitigation on your part if you ask me...

Re: Parking ticket

I had a similar situation some years ago whilst parked at work. I knew my ticket had overrun, "But it's snowing" I thought, "They won't be able to see it due to the snow on the windscreen, ha!"
When I went o go home, the snow on the windscreen had been wiped away and there was a little plastic bag with my fine waiting for me.

Watch them, they're devious

Re: Parking ticket

Is that the way it works in Canada, because I believe it snows quite a lot there too?

Wow - were you required to leave your common sense with Canadian Customs when you left?
