Hello!

I have purchased tickets to take the train from Zurich to Milan on the 25 February, 2011, and then from Milan to Venice that same day. My connection time is a tight 15 minutes, and I am wondering if anyone who frequently uses the Zurich-Milan train can advise me on whether it is usually on time, or within 15 minutes late?

Also, if I happen to miss this connection due to the first train being late, will my ticket be exchanged for one on the next train (likely the next morning) or am I out of luck? They are the cheap tickets that are non-refundable, in case that matters.

I have only used the route once - and there were problems.

Sample size of one isn't much use though

I made the trip once and there was a delay of about 30 minutes or so. Missed the connection to Venice but it wasn't a problem as the ticket worked on the next train. Don't be stressed and enjoy your trip.

Thanks for your advice! It just might mean a night in the Milan station hostel but there are worse things that could happen.

In general I never had delays, but I travel from Lausanne. Have a nice trip and enjoy.
