Re: Importing a car and the 6th month rule

Isn't the girl friend already here?

I can be read both ways was there are two point:

1. "The wedding trousseaux of a person who marries a person whose domicile is in the customs territory and then transfers their domicile to the customs territory, is duty-free."

5. "Household goods of immigrant married couples are treated as wedding trousseaux, if the marriage took place less than six months before the transfer of domicile. Importation must occur within three months of the transfer of domicile." (and this is where you must move not later than 3 months after the wedding, that i mention above. i knew I had read 3 months somewhere).

the whole things IS very confusing! Getting in touch with customs is your best bet.

Neither of us is in CH already, we're moving in April. I'm gonna see if I can get the customs people to explain it to me. Hopefully no5 will work, or I'll be done for a lot of money.
