| | Cancellation with EasyJet
Is it possible to cancel an Easyjet flight? Our kid is sick, and we cannot fly. I see an option to change the flight date or the passenger name for a fee, but no option to cancel the flight. In the worst case, we will just not show up, and add it up to experience (Should get one of those insurances that covers the cancellation costs!).
The bloody buggers! This last sentence probably fits in into the complaints corner, but hey, what the heck! |

I don't think you can do much about it. If I remember well, we had to cancelled and of course, we didn't get our money back. But I think you can claim the taxes back.
I should check on this one to be sure...

It also allows them to release the seat which may in turn help someone else out who needs those booked seats. You might consider selling the flights on the EF, but investigate name change costs etc, it isn't always worth it.

How did you pay for the flights?
If you used a credit card you may have insurance cover from the c.c. company.

Cant get through to a live person till 5 minutes at least, and each minute costs more than 1 Euro per minute!

We book very early to get really cheap flight - but several times things happened which meant we couldn't go - just ditched the flights and accepted it.

Changes can be made to your booking, such as the name of passengers, up to 2 hours prior to the scheduled departure time of your flight. A fee will be charged per passenger, per one-way flight for any change that is made. If you want to change a passenger name, please note that you will also need to pay the difference in any cost between the cost of the flight at the time of booking and the cost of the same flight at the time the name change is made. No refund will be made if the cost of the flight is lower at the time of the name change than at the time of booking. |

Nil makes an interesting point about the taxes - I was listening to the radio a while ago and the question of airport taxes came up. It seems that the airlines makes millions on these taxes from customers who cancel flights and do not claim the taxes back when they are entitled to a refund.
Sometimes these are quite a fair sum....Especially long haul...

cameroon departure tax is the most expensive at 68chf, all other destinations are between 15 and 50 chf with an average of 28chf.
Only a few airports charge an arrival and departure tax.
departure tax from ZRH is 41.50 BTW

Next time im calling the UK helpline. | Quote: | | | | + the difference in price between then and the day of change- if I remember rightly. Edit: from the EasyJet website :

Thats for two people return from Geneva to Luton. Not worth it.
