Importing a motorbike from the UK

Iíve had a look at motorbike prices and it seems that off-road bikes here are on avg CHF3000 more expensive than in the UK.
Has anyone imported a new or preferably second hand bike from the UK to Switzerland?
Do you have any details or suggestions on this?
THANKS

Re: Importing a motorbike from the UK

Been discussed a number of times on here. First, read this post, which probably tells you everything you need to know:

Buying a motorcycle from the UK

Then read these threads, which give more background information:

Buying a motorcycle from the UK

customs and registration costs importing new motorcycle from US?

importing motorcycle from U.S.

The general verdict is that it's fairly straight-forward for used, standard, Euro-compliant bikes. You'll pay import tax, but otherwise the registration/MFK process is pretty simple.

Happy biking!
