A happy surprise from the ZVV
This morning, I had to get to an appointment pretty early in the morning (for me, anyway). I was bumbling through the buses of Zurich, trying to figure out which route would work best this morning. I decided after a few moments that I would switch in Milchbuck.
I used to often switch in Milchbuck, but due to the construction that was there, and using a different line, I just don't go through there anymore. But today I decided to use the stop. As I got off the 69 bus, a couple of men greeted the bus with hot chocolate and gipfili. They greeted all 4 tram lines and the 2 bus lines that serve that stop with a small army of workers from the ZVV as a way of saying thank you for dealing with the construction at Milchbuck. The hot chocolate was nice, and the gipfili was free, so I can't complain.
They didn't have to do this little gesture. After all, the new Milchbuck stop looks pretty decent. However, as a thanks for the patience of their passengers, they went that extra little step. They made a lot of people's mornings just that bit nicer, especially in the cold, dark early morning.
Just another reason why I love the ZVV.
