| I never heard of this too but just in case I'll buy the car then do the MFK then do the windows or have them done.
I would save money & do it myself but I tried even to do those iPhone glass protectors & messed that up

Our car was bought with the black foil on it already, but done ( or out sourced) by the previous owner.
Guys at Mfk said that certain tones apply depending on what window.
You can also only do the rear window and rear side windows, driver and passanger sides need to be clear.
A strip of foil on top of front window is also not allowed, unless its build in by the windscreen manufacturer in blue or green.
picky people i tell you...
our back and rear side windows are "foiled up " and it does make a difference in the summer, just that bit cooler ( temp wize )
