Brazil Driver's lisence

Will Switzerland honor a Brazilian driver's license? I am American, currently living in Brazil and moving to Switzerland soon. My US license will expire while I am here in Brazil. If I change it to Brazilian before it expires, will the Swiss accept the Brazilian one for a swap??? thanks to any one with any info!

You need to renew your USA license or take the Swiss driving test!

click on "Gesuch Umschreibung Ausl. Führerausweis" for a PDF document ZLMB_AUSLUM0909

Hi Pendergast ,

I changed by CNH for a Swiss license, the only diference (US or BR) is that you will need to do a road tests (which takes about 30 to 45 minutes), my wife also did the same was pretty simple, not like in the US where the license date is from the day you tool the test and you will have a higher premium no matter if you drive before for 10 , 20 years in BR , here in Switzerland they will have the start date same as the Brazilian date so you will have a better premium (which is really nice)

if you have any question or want reply in pt_br send a pvt message.

Also make sure you have a CNH A2B (before you leave BR) if you want to ride motorcycle in the future, the road test will be only done with car but both licenses will be changed (the test is only done with the higher class) IF you do only for cars that means you will need to take all classes,tests,etc... if you need a motorcycle license later.

Re: Brazil Driver's lisence

Sorry for bumping the thread but I have some questions about the Brazilian Driver's License.

I'm brazilian and i'll stay for 3 days in Zurich next July. I'll rent a car in Germany and drive around there until Switzerland.

As far as I know, the brazilian driver's license (CNH) is accepted is some countries but is desirable that you have an Internation Driver's License, which is accepted all around the world due to international laws and agreements signed by the major countries.

I'm willing to get this international license to drive in Switzerland. Does anybody know if it is accepted around there?

Thanks.

Weiler.
