Routes to take/avoid: Belgium to CH?

Hi All

In a couple of weeks I'll be driving from Spa into CH, destination Zug. Google maps has recommended I go south into Germany then into France, finally entering CH from France on teh E25 entering near Basel.

Sound like a good place to drive in, mid week, probably late afternoon?

Best
Andrew

Hi,

we did Zug-Brussels-Zug in early June. Both ways I did what the navigation told me, that's Zug-Basel-Strassbourg-Luxemburg-Brussels. We drove there on wednesday and got back on saturday. No problems with traffic whatsoever, I guess we got lucky. One thing really amaze me, the french toll roads. Nothing beats them, I paid gladly.

have a look at the related threads below

anyway, you absolutely and utterly do NOT want to come into Basel at the big French border - you get to see the roadworks all through Basel and you have the biggest cluster of speed cameras I've ever seen just after coming over the border into Basel (in the 80 zone DO do 80!)
