Basel border crossing: Car vs Taxi?

Hi all,

Next week we'll arrive to Basel as business trip-BASELWORL.
Unfortunately, when we look for hotels the availability was literally "zero".
Then by luck, we find one, next to the Swiss (Basel)/German border – CaratHotel Basel. This trip is planned for 5-6 days, so this means we have to cross border minimum twice per day for the next 5-6 days.

My questions – what you guys suggest to use for crossing border Car or Taxi? As we want as smooth traveling as possible (no document check or shopping declaration).

Doesnt really matter. You are hardly checked ever anyway. Dont worry about it!

Just for curiosity... what attitude the border customs show to Taxi or hotel shuttles - any different? Any experience?

If this really was the case, then every AK47 totting drug dealer would becomming via taxi to Basel !

The customs will stop whoever they fancy, for as long as the fancy and search you as much as they fancy be it that you are on foot or in the latest Rolls Royce.
