BMW mechanics/Garages in German side.

I live in Zurich. I wonder if any of the members has experience in using BMW mechanics/Garages (not necessarily authorized dealer) across the boarder.

I have problem with my X5 on board computer/MID display. Recommendations on any car electrical repairs also welcome

If you fancy a drive to Basel (and who wouldn't?) there is an excellent BMW garage in Loerrach where they speak good English and are used to Swiss clients. There's lots to do in Loerrach town centre whilst your car is tended to, and you can even claim back the VAT when you return to CH.

Cool, do u have any experience using them.

I am scared of BMW authorized dealer in Zurich. For a simple investigation they charged me CHF 160 and still they r not sure what was the problem.

Do you these this garage is little different?

Re: BMW mechanics/Garages in German side.

Stay well clear of the dealers, I have also been ripped off by them for resolving absolutely nothing!!

Have been recommended Garage Pondaco in Winterthur by a colleague who has had various bmw's serviced there in the past. Not tried them myself yet. Hope this helps...
