Re: Buying Motorcycle batteries in Switzerland

Jumbo carries some bike batteries. They don' carry a vast stock - just the most common ones - but quite cheap(ish).
I once looked for a replacement for my XJ 700 (1985, Californian import), and they had the right one. They didn't, however, have one for my Beamer - a big, heavy duty old boy, which I had to get from a bike shop, for 170 chufs.

Re: Buying Motorcycle batteries in Switzerland

Unless you can find somehwere in DE to collect from...I can recommend http://www.motorradbatterien.ch.

I needed a Gel battery for my 650 and after research, found that this place was the cheapest (compared to ordering from DE and paying import duty etc). It was delivered in a 2 days.

Re: Buying Motorcycle batteries in Switzerland

Thank you all for the feedback. I haven't bought the battery yet but it looks like buying it at Manni's http://www.mannismotorradshop.de/home.htm would be a good buy though this shop makes sense to visit only if you are living relatively close to the north border of Switzerland.

I used that place too and decided to pay the extra for the gel battery.

Re: Buying Motorcycle batteries in Switzerland

I just would like to give a short feedback on subject matter. I finally ended buying the battery at Mannis Motorradshop in Waldshut. http://buegel-fee.ch/app/ I paid for it 59 Euros. The same battery would cost me in Switzerland 120 Sfr.
I would like to thank everybody for the suggestions they have made above.

I've found a good place, but I'll have to look tomorrow on my work computer.

Quick service, good batteries.

Easiest thing is to do a google search with the Battery Model number. Then you come up with loads of sites.

Throgh racing planet, I have found two places locally which hopefully have my battery in and at a good price, I've emailed them so waiting to hear.

I have used them, got a Bosch and a Kyoto, both work well.

That's about the going rate, and they can be got in almost any DIY shop, or indeed most large supermarkets, such as the Géant your recommended shop is just opposite. Specific batteries for larger bikes may not be as easily obtainable there though, but I doubt that a proper bike dealer will charge much moer of an arm and a leg for one.

A proper bike dealer in France or Germany, obviously

Re: Buying Motorcycle batteries in Switzerland

I found my Honda Shadow (T-shaped) battery only at Motorrad Polo shop in Horgen for 110chf (OEM brand).

Honda wanted 300chf for it. I think it would be exactly the same battery. It worked good, no problem at all.

You can find most batteries there, or you can order it.

I've been offered a replacement at 50% off as my battery is out of Warranty but should not die so soon. So will have another new GEL battery soon.
