[Car advice] anyone share experience with Cmax Ford?

Hi,
I was browsing reviews for Ford Cmax V1, or V2 (from 2010 onwards); ford mondeo (2007 onwards) , and the latest ford focus (from 2011 onwards).

Anyone has review or own one?
( I already found lots on the web).

I've seen a Diesel engine 2.0 with 140CV is that enough? (theres a little 1.6 with 115cv which seems low).

Thanks

Re: [Car advice] anyone share experience with Cmax Ford?

Hi,
Does anyone has experience with such car?

Any feedback on how much "mpg" or "Km/liter" it can do?
I read conflicting comments on reviews, some say its decent consumption, some report it consume lots of diesel...

Thanks,

The official figures will always be a little optimistic. If you do a lot of short city journeys a diesel won't work efficiently enough for you - and you'll trask the DPF.

The first Focus was a work of genius - but since then it has softened and lost its edge. It is not the class leader it once was.

The Mondeo is a class act - and simply huge inside. It is well made, but the smaller diesels and petrols can feel underpowered.

A 140ps modern diesel is plenty in a family car.

Re: [Car advice] anyone share experience with Cmax Ford?

I've got a 5 year old Focus with the 140hp diesel and am quite happy. Consumption varies from a worst ofabout 6.5l/100Km if I do lots of short journeys to perhaps 5l on longer trips. Best ever was 4.2l on a trip to Bern that was plagued by loads of roadworks but no queues.

Power is plenty. Handling is decent. Quality pretty much on a par with VW Golfs I have rented (all are built to a price these days) but for a package that second hand costs a lot less (2nd hand VWs are very overpriced imo).

Thanks!

Yes we are not into the "focus". We only like the latest focus Estate (2011) but it's way too pricey in 2nd hand.

We looked the CMax1 and the CMax 2, Cmax 1 I read negative feedback on how it uses lot of diesel...
It seems using more than Mondeo (different shape, mondeo seems to be better aerodynamism), and weight is similar.

The magazines review say Cmax 2, engine 1.6 Diesel 115PS or CV is enough but user feedback says its not enough and it should be 140ps...

Problem with Mondeo is the size, it's quite big

The 1.6 is enough - but it won't be super-quick. It maintain motorway speeds OK - and will be OK in town - but you may find it isn't as sprightly as you may want on the open roads.
