Is Geico accepted in Switzerland

Good afternoon,

I'm ready to convert my US plates to Swiss ones, since my 3-months green insurance card will be expiring soon. Does anyone know if Geico is accepted in the motor vehicle office here? (the wording on their site is something along - you need to have a proof of Swiss insurance

I'm not sure if Swiss means valid in Switzerland or a Swiss company.
Thanks

Have you already contacted Geico to see if they cover vehicles in Switzerland?

When I imported my car, I had Geico US. I was informed they would cover the car only until it left port from the US. On the cargo liner, I had marine freight insurance coverage. Upon arrival of the car in Amsterdam the freight forwarder's underwriting company issued a roll off insurance coverage of one week. I was then able to drive the car to Switzerland, where I had it immediately insured by a Swiss company. Perhaps your situation is one that lends itself to a different set of regulations but for me and my policy, Geico was not an option.

Re: Is Geico accepted in Switzerland

Sorry for the confusion. This is European Geico, not US Geico (I can't cancel US insurance until I return my plates). I've contacted them and they were very helpful - they said they are acceptable for the registration office.
