TomTom Rider 2 Charging Cable from Battery

Hi,

Need some advice from the technically minded motorcycle crew.
Just received my new TomTom Rider 2 today and am wondering where I connect the cable from the main unit in order for it to be charged/charging whilst on my Bike.

Was considering the battery but there appears to be no built in breaker and I don't fancy frying the GPS.

Diagrams/ photos or even video's of location/fitment etc gratefully accepted as there is nack all on the internet

Bike (for those who don't know) is a Moto Guzzi V7 Classic

Cheers

Re: TomTom Rider 2 Charging Cable from Battery

I needed the same set up but decided to go one step further by fitting a fused cigarette lighter adaptor thingy. (Same as the one in your car) This way, I could charge phones/torches/sex toys or whatever else used the cigarette lighter electrical connector thingy. (Does anyone know what it is really called?)

Anyway, I bought a few reasonably priced bits and pieces from Louis.de and made up a fused cable and connector so that I could power most small appliances and gadgets whilst on tour. I can send you a photo tonight if you like? Very easy to make and fit to the bike.

Which one did you get? I got mine (Urban Rider) a couple of weeks back and the bloody thing didn't come with a bike-power cable. Had to fork out another 100 chuffs for the powered mount and cable.

Currently conencted to the battery but having also forked out for the Bonnie owners workshop manual I've now identified an accessory socket which should be somewhere under the tank - this weekends funtime will be finding it .

I had exactly the same problem - in the older version of the Rider, the charging mount and cable came with it, but not in the latest. ;( Then, once I got the new mount and cable, I realized that I have to order another piece to get the damned CANbus adapter for the BMW bike (20 CHF, ordered from Nippy Norman's in the UK). That should arrive sometime this week...

Mine is the latest version of Rider Europe 22, comes with all the bits, circa 250 all in from GPSK Ltd.
Fortunately bike is going for a service tomorrow and they reckon that they may be able to fit it for me, failing that may have to go for the cigatete lighter theory or find auxiliary power source- highly unlikely on my Guzzi
