Why does it seem odd?

There's nothing else there either, so really it is not out of the ordinary that there's no book shop.

Well then. Now you're in luck. There is a bookshop in Badischer Bahnhof.

I guess I've become accustomed to the BAA "shove it down your throat" approach to retailing.

The bus?

Mate... I wouldn't have gone this way, as you really don't want to start from here... you want to...

OK, I found it. It was 36 steps from the far-right entrance as you look towards the Messeturm, but standing backwards, with your right shoulder slightly turned towards France.

But the book was about Basel SBB, so I've put in an order for the sequel "How to get from Basel Bad Bhf to EuroAirport, via Basel SBB, for Dummies" and they said it will be posted to my home address next week.

Next question: how do I get home?

I find your report wholly misleading. Please could you give us an approximation of the length of your step pole.

Thank you.

Edit: due to clarification of means of measurement...

We'll you're shafted then - no pun intended - pogo sticks are banned from the airport bus. Have been since the great pogo stick debacle of '01 when the Moritanian team lost their sticks in their transfer from the train to the bus and stole them from the Germans. The Germans didn't realise they had been victims of this act of theft until they arrived back in Munich, in time for the German pogo stick nationals. The competition had to be rescheduled, which meant that their chances of entry into the Olympics as a new sport has been shelved by the Olympic Committee.

At the risk of interjecting some real information into this thread (talk about throwing good money after bad), there is a bookshop at the airport, albeit a small one. You can buy books and magazines at the Relay or at Hudson News.

The trouble is that these shops can be tricky to find, as they're tucked away in the corners of the airport.

I can usually find them when I get there, but perhaps someone with a better knowledge of the airport layout could weigh in with more specific directions?

I've been going past the front of the station at least a couple of time a day this past week and haven't seen the orange bus once... Which begs the question jrspet: just how long did you hang around the station to get those snaps?!

Re: [Where EXACTLY is the] bus station at Basel SBB?

Hey, the guy gave up reading at post 11, logged out and hasn't logged in again since, so nothing we can do will help him much more now. Any other Newbie, being diligent and searching before asking, will start going through this Thread and think the whole of EF is a mad-house.

So, any more details to help newcomers - like the name of the driver, whether he will be able to speak English, how full the bus is likely to be, how many times it stops before it gets to the Airport, the name of the park it passes on the left at a roundabout, why the trams in Basel are green, why there is barbed wire at the top of the fence on both sides of the road, what is the Milchsuppe...
