| | Geneva : commuting time
if this can be useful....
my commute time from Croix-de-Rozon (at the foot of the Salève) to Saint-Jean, where I work. (I start working at 9 am)
I take two buses : 44, from CDR to Tour-de-Carouge and 11 to Delice stop in St-Jean.
total time 40 mn. with a 10 mn wait at Tour-de-Carouge for the 11 bus.
It's more or less always the same length, sometimes bus 11 takes a bit more, due to the heavy roadworks.
if other people in Geneva want to post theirs....

10Km from Mies, Vaud to pretty near the UN in Geneva taking the lake road.
in the summer when everyone is away -- 15 minutes
othertimes 40 mins in stop and go.
or if mrs. G and I are feeling energetic... 15 min walk to the train station and 15 mins on the train.

| | | | | Being in Nyon, getting to Geneva center is easier than if we lived in Geneva! 5 minute walk to train station, trains every 15-20 minutes, 14 minutes to Geneva. If we miss the train we're still there in just over half an hour.
I am frequently on the outskirts near La Praille to see a client, was talking to someone there who lives in pretty central Geneva and she said public transport to work was about 1.5 hours.

Yes, a 12 min. train ride from Nyon to Geneva. Getting to/from the train stations adds about 10 minutes to my commute. I'm not complaining when I sit there relaxed, reading my book, etc. watching the lakeroad/autoroute people sitting in traffic jams.
And per Mud, I had a longer commute from Malagnou to rive droite, even by bike/public transport with all the congestion crossing the bridges.

How about the bike from Mies? I used to bike commute from there every day, fastest and most relaxed commute possible. [caveat--had to hold breath at times when crossing Versoix during roadworks]

Heading back towards the original topic....
I commute in from Jussy to just by Place Bel-Air. Around 20 mins door to door with the motorbike, 30ish on the way in on the bicycle although its more uphill on the way back so around 40 mins to get home when unpowered
If I took the bus and tram it's about an hour via Bus C to Graveson and then Tram 12, 16 or 17.
Anyway, as you were chaps |
