Average Speed Cameras in Vaud have gone up

Just a warning if you are driving in our neck of the woods. The new average speed camera system has been installed over the last day or two and is being tested on a long, straight stretch of the A9 (direction Lausanne - Martigny only). The first camera is placed near the exit for Aigle and the second is just before the exit for Bex.

They are big, mean machines, quite unlike anything I've seen before and guaranteed to stir fear into the hearts of the unsuspecting.

Re: Average Speed Cameras in Vaud have gone up

average speed camera's are a nightmare. they have no understanding of road conditions being machines and the result is ridiculous. Just look at the luton one that ran from the London M1 stretch up to Luton Airport. it was murder with people trundling along at 40mph on deserted motorways at 4am.

More time looking down at the speedo, than out at the road - really safe.

They had cameras there for the roadworks, with big signs proclaiming how many drivers' licences had been revoked - they were just normal speed cameras, though, I think.
