Anybody dealt with Auto Steiner in Zurich?

A friend of mine is looking at an F430 they have. Looks quite a nice car, but as it's obviously not cheap I was wondering if anybody had any experiences of this company they'd care to share?

Nothing came up when I type the name into the forum search tool.

Thanks in advance

What's an F430? Is that like one of those L200 pick up things that Mitsubishi make?

Re: Anybody dealt with Auto Steiner in Zurich?

We bought a car from them back in 1998. From what I recall, it was a fairly straight-forward deal with no hassles/problems. We picked up an almost new Mazda with about 1000 km on the clock for about 35-40% off sticker. We drove the car for 5 years and didn't have any problems with it. Sorry I can't help more, but it was quite a long time ago!

Thanks chiguy.
They did have a lot of cars at what seemed like keen prices, good to know of your positive experience.

I don't know Andrew. Lookinig at their website it does remind me a little of www.cargiant.co.uk, just slightly more upmarket cars. I think it is one of these situations where you'd have to go out and kick the tyres and look them in the eyes.

The guys are ok.. 99% of the cars came from Spain/Germany or somewhere else from UE.
Pro… the price.
Con- no special warranty like MERCEDES-SWISS-INTEGRAL for Mercedes for example.
Con - If the car came from Spain she was already registered there and the warranty are already started doing some loose between 3 to 6 months of warranty. My case trying to buy a car in May and discover the date of first registration in December in Spain.. even the car was sold as new….

Yes, the reason being is to avoid CO2 tax which is payable on any car that has been registered for less than 6 months. Tax is quite expensive, for my car it would be in region of Chf 15k (Mercedes CLS 63)

Main dealers avoid it by "offset", basically 1 Ferrari would be equivalent to 30 Fiat 500's, so the the tax for main dealers is carefully avoided. Cute, screw the private dealers, hence why you find so many cars avaialble in Germany with few km and all 6-7 months old.

Extended warranty, all cars sold in EU come with 2 years i beleive, you can always add on additional manufacturers warranty for payment, once again, for mine, 2 extra years was around Chf 2k
