Car rental for 3 months?

I was wondering if anyone can help me find out where i could rent a car for 3 months in the swiss french area (montreux, vevey, lausanne, geneva). I'd like to rent a small car like a fiat 500 or a mini cooper, just for the summer.

I would be using it to travel a lot to france on the weekends, as my girlfriend has to go back home and even though it would be a 7 hour drive, I think it would be cheaper then taking the train all the time.

If anyone can help i'd greatly appreciate it.

If you organise it in France rather than in Switzerland you can lease rather than rent. As long as you are doing it for more than 17 days it works out MUCH cheaper than renting. We did it some years ago, and it was really worthwhile. This link will give you some idea about it.

Re: Car rental for 3 months?

I don't believe a 3 month lease would be very cheap!!

The Mobility monthly rent

Do you need a vehicle for an extended period of at least one month? Our "monthly rent" offer provides you with your own vehicle for up to 24 months without having to make a reservation.
The fixed price includes 1'250 kilometres per month, and we take care of the entire vehicle maintenance. The price also includes comprehensive coverage, motor liability insurance, passenger insurance, taxes, and the Swiss motorway toll sticker.
In addition to the fixed vehicle, you can also use one of the 2'500 Mobility vehicles at 1'250 stations throughout Switzerland, as the Mobility subscription is included during the rental term. For existing customers, the Mobility subscription is not extended (no compensation due).
Costs

If available, the vehicles will be at your disposal within five working days after signing the contract. However, we recommend to reserve the desired vehicle at an early stage, especially during holiday time.

Vehicle category Economy - Renault Modus
Price/month (including 1'250 km): CHF 780.-
Not included in the price: Fuel, additional kilometres (price/additional kilometre: CHF 0.20), cleaning, parking, one-time deposit of CHF 1'000.-

Re: Car rental for 3 months?

As has been mentioned on a few other threads, http://www.patricklocation.ch/ is probably the most economical in the area.

I did happen to notice while renting a car for vacation from Avis, www.avis.ch, that they also offered long-term rentals, but you need to contact them for details. I assume they would be more expensive than patrick locationk, but could be wrong.
