Does anyone know the rules regarding “priority from the right” on Swiss roads?

My (perhaps wrong) understanding it was priority from the right at selected intersections when turning right.

Last week I was coming to one of those intersections where it looked like the line painter suddenly had a spasm (road lines diverging at every angle ) and a car pulled out directly in front of me turning across the traffic, forcing me to screech on the brakes, then he started berating me as it was his right of way.

Again my understanding was priority from the right was for turning right ( but in this case wouldn’t have mattered if he had turned right I still would have had to lean on the brakes. )

No, priority from the right, means that any car coming from your right has right of way... not right filter (as in the US).

Basically, it shows you that "priority" from the right rules apply. So you have right of way over anything coming from your left, but must give way to anything coming from your right.

There's been a bit of discussion on it before...

carlos, I'll need to go back to the scene of the crime but I'm fairly sure there was only a center line and the line leading the right... not really sure tho.

again tho... even had he turned right I still would have had to slam on the brakes, maybe he was entitled to priority but a little common sense would have helped as well.

Whatever direction he's coming from and whatever direction he's going in, if he's coming from your right and you don't specifically have priority (i.e. on a road with a yellow diamond or roundabout), you have to give way.

Tsh'yeah... common sense? On Swiss roads? What, are you some kind of noob?
