new reg plate - UK style ???

Greetings everyone,

OK, the question may sound ridiculous, but the eccentric in me wants to order a front reg plate for our car, but in the style of a UK plate (i.e. with UK Font and sizing) -

So , the wee one that is normally on the front will be kept in a garage somewhere and the new one added to the car - there won't be the addition of the GB EU flag - it will just be a straight white plate with numbers and letters.

Some questions I hope can be answered -

1. I am thinking of only doing this to the front of the car - is this illegal in CH? What I am not sure about is that a car can be driven with the correct plate, but a different style font.....

2. Will the CH Old Bill frown upon this?

Yes, sounds crazy, but guidance would be appreciated on the subject

Have you ever seen a Swiss car with non-official plates? No? That's because it's illegal. You'd stick out like a sore thumb and would get hit with a hefty fine the first time you passed a police car. Actually, on reflection, someone would probably "be all Swiss" and correctly report you.

Cheers

Re: new reg plate - UK style ???

Have you noticed how most Swiss cars are waved through the border, whilst those with foreign plates are invariably pulled over... that will be you with your non standard plates

Really? In CH?

The car plates are government stamped approved ID "cards" for want of a better description for your car. Look closely at the new ones and you'll see that they even have holographic logos... all of which suggests that it is a do-not-even-try-to-copy-me-or-I-will-fine-you-and-lock-you-away-for-ever-probably piece of ID.

Would recommend that the ticket inspectors take a good hard look at our poster's West Ham season ticket next time he passes through the turnstiles at Boleyn Ground. Might also be a "Made at home on the kitchen table" job.
