wrong kind of sun

The UK train service has again ground to a halt this afternoon but, this time, not the wrong kind of snow, or leaves on the line, but the heat.
It's about 33 degrees here in London which is about the same as Lausanne so, I presume, the Swiss trains have stopped running too

Nope... exactly the right kind of sun for Swiss trains. The main line in and out of Neuchâtel runs about 20 metres behind my house and I can assure you that everything is as usual, with a train approximately every five minutes. Out of necessity it's going to be a "sleep with all the windows open" night, so it might be a noisy one !

I blame Murdoch.

Isn't there a bus route between SW19 and SW3?

Re: wrong kind of sun

And the steps down to the beach in Brighton have started to melt due to the heat.
The local Council is blaming the contractor's use of the wrong kind of asphalt.

Re: wrong kind of sun

the only thing I noticed today about the trams running in the heat was that they seemed to back up more in the city centre, probably due to the people taking a little bit longer to cross the road.

Re: wrong kind of sun

(Reliability + punctuality) - (Wrong kind of snow + unseasonal rains + too much sun + leaves on the lines) = (cancellations + delays) = too little investment.
Simples!

ps I'm not a mathnut, Mathnut!
