Basel's equivalent to Halfords....

Folks, apologies if this has been asked before (have searched the threads), but would appreciate if anyone could advise if there is a "Hlafords" equivalent in Basel -

I am thinking of Dreitspitz OBI, but this is more B&Q than Halfords -

Sorry if this is an obvious question

Thank you in adv.

The Swiss are not really into car repairs, CoOp bau & hobby is not bad, one in Basel.

What specifically are you after, or do you just fancy a bit of manly window shopping?

Washer fluid, Autoglym car care produtcts (well, I will be importing that stuff in), and the like of such.

If I am not mistaken, there is a Bau+Hobby in Allschwill??

Allschwill sounds about right, it's a few years since I was there. It was good for car things, about the only place I could get slightly non standard headlight bulbs for a BMW 318Ti other than a main dealer.

Re: Basel's equivalent to Halfords....

The closest thing to Halfrauds in Basel is ATU in Weil am Rhein. They're like Kwik-Fit, but with a very well stocked shop attached.

CoOp bau & hobby is way better stocked, Jumbo is fine for everyday needs.

+1 for ATU however don't buy winter tires without checking the manufacture date, they tried to sell me some that were 3 years old, saleaman phoned his boss & said it did not matter! After rejecting them they still tried to fit them.

I'm a bit spoilt, as I have one of the big Maximo stores nearby, and it carries a good product range.
