Number plate holder things

Hi,

Do you know where to get those plastic things that clip around the number plates?

I would like to order some without any branding on.

Are they easy to replace? I can't see any obvious screws etc.

Thanks, James.

Re: Number plate holder things

If you have a relationship with a Garage or Dealership, they will give them to you for free as they normally have the name of the garage printed on them for advertising. They might even replace them for you while you wait.

If you want to buy them, go to any Jumbo, Migros Do-It or Coop Brico.

To change them/get the plate out, you slide the plastic part at the bottom (one with the printing on it) to one side then it will come out. From there you can access the plate. Take it out then unscrew the main part of the plate holder. Do the reverse when you install the new one.

Re: Number plate holder things

Alternatively, you can just drill some holes in the plate and bolt or rivet it directly the the vehicle.

I only use the plastic frames for swapable plates.

I used two sided adhesive tape (for outdoor use) for my front number plate, because I did not want to drill any more holes to my bumber. These tiny front plates did not fit to german plate holders.
I can say it looks good and almost like register number was printed staigth to bumber.

And it will only cost you CHF 60 to replace the plate when it falls off. Not bad.
