| | Myopic Swiss cars
Since I've lived here I have wondered why so many Swiss cars drive around with one headlight or one tail light out?
Anyone shed any light on this?

Maybe it's not such an issue in CH and US, but in UK it's quite normal to get stopped by police if you have a light out. I'm just surprised how many one-eyed cars you see here. Maybe it has something to do with the Swiss phobia of DIY car repairs.

It's not just swiss cars, here on the Geneva/France border I often see french ones with defective lights. This is against the law as you are supposed to carry and use replacement bulbs as needed, but no one seems to bother checking their lights unless the car is going in for its 'visite'.

Don't you mean cyclopic? I can't imagine cars being short-sighted, just their drivers .

I'm fed up changing the xenon head lamps on the Range Rover, they cost a fortune. The thing is, I haven't found a better vehicle for ram raiding the jewelers on Bahnhofstrasse.
