Geneve Secheron

If walking to this train station, where is the actual pedestrian entrance/exit? Is there a road so I can locate where to go? I can't really tell where the entrance is on a map.

Any particular place in Geneva two people should not be walking, let's say at midnight?

Re: Geneve Secheron

As Ittigen says, the stop 'Rigot' on Avenue de la Paix.
Two buses go past there, #11, Jardin Botanique-Bout-du-Monde (Carouge), or #28, Jardin Botanique-Parfumerie (via the airport).
Otherwise the #13 or 15 trams.

Geneva is pretty safe, even at night. Just try to avoid obviously rowdy, possible drunken, people. The same as anywhere, really.

Re: Geneve Secheron

Thanks for the responses. I am slightly confused now. What is the difference between this one (Geneve Secheron) and the one right before it(Geneve by Cornavin)?

I want to go to Bern one day. I want to go to the airport another day.

The stop at Secheron is the nearest to the United Nations buildings and the Botanical Gardens, Cornavin is the main railway station in the centre of town.

The main station is Geneva Cornavin where all the big trains come and go. If going to Bern, definitely take an intercity or similar from Cornavin.

Geneva Secheron is a new stop that was added with the new local regional train that goes to/from Coppet to Lancy Pont Rouge. Only really useful for local commuting in the greater Geneva area. Although if you are lucky, you may be able to use it to connect to Cornavin for the bigger trains, but it runs bascially only 2x per hour and only the small regional train stops there. Generally though you have more and better connections by tram or bus to Cornavin from the Sechereon area, or just walk, it is not far.

If going to the airport, again, Cornavin is better, about half to a third of all trains entering GVA continue to the airport. If taking the secheron stop you would have to change trainis in Cornavin anyhow as the regional train goes to the other direction to Lancy pont rouge.
