L permit from UK - can I drive here?

Hi
I used to have a US drivers license back in the day but let it expire ages ago.
last year i got an L permit in England, but came to switzerland so didnt get a full UK license. I have a friend that wants to take a road trip with me. She has a full swiss license but hates to drive and doesnt like to drive on the motorways
or for a long time.

So the question is: get i put L plates on her car, and drive with my L permit
from UK (in switzerland) if she is in the car also with a swiss license but it is me driving?

thanks a lot for your help!!

I think you should ask the strassenverkehrsamt directly, but do you know that you are not allowed to drive on motorways in the uk with only a learner licence? Probably easier to get a Swiss learner licence and do things properly.

Re: L permit from UK - can I drive here?

An interesting question, and I have no idea, although my instinct says a big NO. Who would insure you, your friend and more importantly, other road users? Your friend should check with her Insurance- please don't take the risk until you are SURE.

NO!

L-permit only allows you to drive in the issuing country, and you must have an able (i.e. not drunk or sleeping) driver with you (at least 25 years old).

No EU provisional licences are valid in Switzerland.

In order to drive in the UK you must have a holder of a full UK driving license alongside you in the car.
