Performance Remap/chip advice

All. Currently in UK and just sold my remapped octavia vrs for impeding move. In UK you just need to declare the power gain for insurance.

What about in Switzerland? Also any issues with the MFK test?

I was thinking of getting a 105 bhp 1.9 octavia out there in Basel and remapping to get the most from the PD engine.

Anyone else been down this route?

Thanks

Skoda dealers here offer the remapping. As it will be done officially by the dealer it should not be a problem with insurance or MFK but you will need to inform the insurance company and get the dealer stamp to prove that the modification conforms to safety requirements for the car.

The MFK does not test for power so they won't know. Many motorbikes have more power than spec.
Insurance companies in CH have a habit of paying out, no questions asked, all cars are insured for any driver for at least 3rd party, UK get outs don't seem to exist.

Perfect thanks guys. A relief that can get a remap easily (for better fuel efficiency ;))

For a little extra cash you can get one of those devices where you can write some predefined maps yourself. So you could just un-map it before the MFK or whatever, then map it back.

Also a pity you had to sell you vrs. I also have one and have to sell it in a month or so. And when I look how much a vrs costs here I cringe.

Not heard of these, though the ecu remap was specialized process?

Any links?
