Some things are cheaper in Zurich than France!

MKF in Zurich costs 56chf, for someone living over the border they pay 75 Euro! It's not very often to find something cheaper in CH. However living in France you are quids in as there is no annuel charge for no plates like in CH.

no we don't (just checked, I paid 44.75), there is no fixed price for this inspection, each place is free to set their own prices and it also depends on the type of the car.

I think you're thinking of the Exhaust Gas test, not the MFK.

if by MFK you are referring to the mandatory technical inspection then I am indeed talking about the equivalent, controle technique in France. The exhaust gas test is included in the inspection.

Getting to Zurich main station is usually cheaper if you live in Zurich rather than France.

Control Technique indeed, if it includes antipolution it's a real bargain even at 75 euro!

Re: Some things are cheaper in Zurich than France!

I know that this is about Switzerland vs. France, but you can still get an MOT in Britain for 30 - 35 (if you shop around). Includes the emissions test . But the test has to be renewed every year .

Getting to Zurich main station is cheaper if you live in London than if you live in Bern.

Re: Some things are cheaper in Zurich than France!

In Portugal the MKF cost 22 euros.

Come here, take vacations, make the service on your car and make us grow.

But ok, Spain would be even cheaper (less VAT).
