Car Insurance in Germany

Hi,

I am shipping my car from US to Germany. From there I am planning to drive it to Switzerland and eventually register it in Zurich. I have valid Canadian license plates for the car, but Canadian insurance does not cover the car while anywhere outside North America.
Does anybody know what procedure should I follow to get the car insured in Bremerhaven? What insurance company should I talk to (preferably in English)? Is it possible at all?
