| | Left Luggage section Zurich HB
Hello everyone
Does anyone know whether Zurich HB station has a left luggage/locker section where I can leave couple of pieces of luggage for a day. Where exactly is it? Many thanks.

There is also a more expensive manual luggage check located on the outside of the station on the Landesmuseum side.

It's in the mezzanine floor underneath the main concourse.
Follow the signs to the lavatories, and you'll see them. Bring change (lots of 2CHF pieces should do the trick).

Many thanks everyone for your responses. I plan to drop our luggage this Saturday and go with my daughter to Zurich Zoo and then catch train to Chur around 6-7 pm. I heard there is a massive parade in Zurich on Saturday, I guess I must be there real early or else the marchers will have taken all lockers?

- The station will be very busy on account of the parade as will the trains. If your train is very busy maybe consider upgrading to 1st class.
- There will be litter everywhere on account of the parade
- Many tram lines will be cut short or re-routed as the parade basically blocks the town centre, and those that do run will probbaly not be on time.
- I don't know how old your daughter is, but at the street parade there will be lots of people dressed strangely and acting strangely and they will be everywhere. So depending on your daughter's age and her ability to handle that you should maybe think of something else?
As an alternative, consider riding the S-Bahn to Stettbach and catching the number 751 bus. Alight at Dreiwiesen and from there it's a 5 minute walk to the zoo.
Another alternative is just to come as early as possible to avoid all that.

Further to Amogles' post:
Proceed directly to Goldau (Arth-Goldau station). Deposit bags in lockers there. Go to Tierpark. Have lovely day, a long way from the ravers. Collect bags from lockers. Catch Voralpen Express to Pfaffikon SZ. Catch Interregio to Chur.
Check train times here.
Believe me, Zurich really will be a nightmare on Saturday.

What grumpy said or simply walk to a hotel and tell em that you'll be checking in later and ask them whether you can deposit the few luggages for a couple of hours. If it's for an entire day, there will be a new hotel clerk at the front desk and he would just think that you're a customer who's leaving. If it's the same one and he asks about your intentions of checking in, tell him that plans have changed and that you need to leave the country this evening.

Was staying in Athens on business and had checked out of my hotel (outside city) at 10am, wanted to go to the centre of Athens for a few hours before my plane was due to leave so headed for Syntagma square, headed for the poshest hotel I could see to leave my luggage at whilst traipsing up to the Acropolis etc. Walked up to the baggage porter and said "I have just checked out and would like to leave my bags here" "what's your name and what was your room number"? he asked I froze. In a second I blurted out a false name "Mr Chapman room 243.......I think" he typed away on his computer................"No your room number was 433 Mr Chapman"!!! and accepted my luggage. Either he knew my game and had sympathy or it was an extreme coincidence, I prefer to believe the latter.
