LED lights on a motorcycle - legal?

Hey folks

I would love to have such LED lights on my motorbike: http://i1003.photobucket.com/albums/...2/IMG_2506.jpg (not that bright like a xmas tree. more like this: http://www.fendereliminators.net/ima...ed_512x340.jpg just to accentuate the bike. please no discussion on whether they look cool or not)

but are they legal in zurich?

i didn't find anything useful in www.stva.zh.ch or www.admin.ch

or who can I ask for information on this?

You can ask the StrassenVekehrsAmt in Zurich http://www.stva.zh.ch/internet/siche...e/kontakt.html

On bicycles the flashing red rear LED lights are not legal by themselves, but can be used as an extra safety feature.

You're going to have difficulty stopping people making comments on a public forum.

My son's will think they look cool. The eldest is seven. HTH

Re: LED lights on a motorcycle - legal?

doubtless you'd need some approval. Thankfully, if you do get approval, your bike will repell members of the opposite sex and thus end your blood line....which, given you taste, may not be a bad thing

Re: LED lights on a motorcycle - legal?

I remember reading about a motorcyclist in Zurich who got a heavy fine for fitting his own led rear brake lights - story was he was blinding other road users

They tell what is allowed, not what is not allowed. Allowed are front facing white lights and rear facing red lights plus direction indicator lights.

Pimp lights are not listed and are therefore not allowed .
