If I'll buy a new or used car in Germany, will the guarantee works in Switzerland?

e.g. 1yo M-B or Volkswagen.
I will survive without free service, but guarantee is important to have here in CH, not in DE.
Thanks!

maybe, maybe not, you would need to check with the manufacturer

if you don't import it then they would never know anyway

I hear BMW are not too helpful with gray imports, we've had first hand dealings with toyota who where not too helpful with our imported landcruiser.

Anyway the guy is like 1-2 hours away from Germany...
He would "save" (or not spend) quite a lot of money by buying abroad.
And still wants everything including local warranty....

Also it's very unlikely to have issue with a 1 year old car, and if any issue you can still go to Germany!

Or buy a swiss car if you want "local warranty"!
People wants too much!

It does depend on the manufacturer, but most are now the warranty Europe wide, some will even honour the servicing and breakdown assistance.

As BB2 says, speak to the head office of the manufacturer of the brand you decide on and get them to write to you if you are concerned.

Depending on the Marque the garage might get difficult but then you point out they are obliged to... Robert's your mother's brother

p.s AMAG are always difficult wether it is a Swiss car or German..LOL MB not so much

I appreciate your opinion, really. Note, that I agree to go for service to DE but just imagine if the car can't go only 1-2 hours and need an evacuator?
And I would say also that some Swiss shops and dealers want too much!
