Moving household (EU) over during the weekend?

After planning everything carefully, and preparing the required paperwork, I just read I need to clear my household (coming from EU)?
If so, does this mean I won't be able to cross the German-Swiss border by van during the weekend? In my particular case, I expect to cross on Saturday afternoon / evening.

Re: Moving household (EU) over during the weekend?

Think I figured it out (clearance is required). However, it's unclear to me when this can be done on a Saturday at the Basel / Weil am Rhein-Autobahn border.

Anyone who can tell me the exact times? The following two links don't make it any clearer to me:

http://www.ezv.admin.ch/dienstleistu...tail.php?id=88

Thanks!

Re: Moving household (EU) over during the weekend?

Thanks! I've read up about it in the meantime, but it's not clear to me what the opening times for clearing household is at the Basel Autobahn border.
In other words, will that be the opening times listed on the page concerning the Grenzwachtposten, or from the Zollinspektorat? Where did you get the 4PM from?

Apologies, but I want to prevent driving 800 km. and be send back.

Are you coming from the Netherlands? Better start very early saturday or perhaps friday evening. Autobahn in Germany is bad at the moment with all the roadworks and it takes about an hour/ 2 hours more.

Because of all the restrictions about clearing customs and unloading our moving company drove to border on wednesday, cleared customs thursday morning and then unloaded....maybe the weekend is not the best time for moving....

Yep, I am.

It's actually the few parts of household from my girlfriend who's moving in with me. I'm already living in Switzerland for a few years now (I myself used a moving company instead).

Planning to drive off on Friday evening so I'll be in Basel no Saturday early morning. I just want to be sure I can clear the goods on a Saturday, but the listed office hours don't make it much clearer.

I assume you mean at Schaffhausen / Bargen (when coming from Germany)? Either way, Bargen is closed on Saturday, Thayngen is only open till noon.
Guess I'll have to drive off on Friday evening then, to at least be in Basel in the early morning.
