Re: Shop with car parts in Germany

Quick question: bought a battery from OBI and they gave me a tax form, which I got stamped at the border. However, when I went back to get the taxes, they told me the clerk had made a mistake as they don't refund tax on car parts. Is this normal or something fishy going on?

That is now correct, if you buy at a supermarket along with other shopping you will probably get away with it!

you can not claim the tax back on technical vehicle items BUT if you have the said parts fitted included in a bill with a labour cost then you can.

eg i bought a rear tyre for my motorbike and a few other technical parts and then all was ok, i could claim the tax back.

no labour = no tax back.
