Stair-free way to get out of Lugano station

Bit of a random question (and apologies if I'm being dim!) but I've travelled to Lugano quite a few times by train with my little girl in a pushchair and have so far failed to find a way off the platform to the front of the station (so I can then walk down to the centre) apart from going up the escalator (which involved folding down the pushchair as it's difficult to balance it). I've used the ramps to get off the platform itself but then find myself stuck in the central area. I know I should really just ask someone in the station but often in a rush and my Italian isn't great so I was hoping some of the Lugano residents might be able to help! Thanks in advance.

Re: Stair-free way to get out of Lugano station

The SBB site indicates that there is wheelchair access to the platform.

As I recall, there is a lift.

I had assumed there would be a lift somewhere but, if so, it's not very well marked and the central part isn't that big so I would have though it would be hard to miss.

Re: Stair-free way to get out of Lugano station

indeed there is a lift at the less popular end of the platform (you're talking 2/3 as the others ramp onto the street) - if you're facing the main station part, it's along to the left.

also there are ramps down to the main underpass and ramps up or the escalator there. Just by the escalator is a wheelchair lift but it's not self-service.

on the right hand side entrance to the funicular to Lugano centre, there is a ramp to go down but when you get off, you have some steps to go down.

That's the one I was thinking of.
