anyone an opinion ?
seems expensive to buy , lease or a combination package with a dealer in switzerland
is it cheaper to buy in uk and swissy the car after a year
do u insure in switzerland or with a uk insurer?
i know u cant lease from uk.
lhd or rhd does it really matter?
anyone been in the same boat that wants to give me an opinion wud be massively appreciated

The search function is your Friend, similar question is asked most weeks.

Insuring a UK car outside the UK is difficult, 1 Broker can do it.
Unless you have owned the car for 6 months before living here duty & VAT will be payable on import.
RHD is a bit of a pain, I did it for a year but was too much of a pain to register the car here.
Buying second hand is probably the best option, cars for sale & taking over leases are also a weekly event here.

and will a swiss insurer not want to help as its a uk rhd car?

Approx 12% taxes on a new car plus headlight conversions etc. If the EXACT car has never been imported before it could be a major pain & expensive to import. If you owned the car before for 6 months before the start of your resident permit you got here it can be imported without much fuss + no taxes.

You may well get 20% discounts on new, Mercedes were offering that a few months ago

Taking over leases & a few cars are sold here.

Once it's on CH plates Swiss will insure, before they don't want to know or might with 100% loading.

cake and eat it springs to mind ! pay the top seems to be the swiss way....oh bugger . residents permit for over a year but didnt need transport in zurich .... do now !

Then you have to register in CH straight away, your Swiss license is not even valid for foreign registered cars in CH. (Hopefully you have exchanged your license within 1 year)

Best info I can give you is to get the real deal (Vogue) and not the sport!

And fill out forms using normal words... (not abbreviated txt speak)
