Parking tickets from neighboring French towns - do they travel ?

Hello , got a parking ticket in Mulhouse with my CH-reg car. Do you know if parking tickets come over to CH from FR like speeding tickets ? Thank you

Just pay it, what is the issue. You parked the car illegially and was fined.

@telandy - if you don't have an answer, don't give me lessons pls. I did not ask for this. Nor did I mention all the particulars of the case, nor are they the topic of my post.

Speeding fines follow you and show up in an official grey envelope with "La République Française" on them, not sure if they go to the bother for parking fines. I'll guess we'll know if you get mail.

1) You got a parking ticket - this happened because either:
a) You parked illegally
b) The ticket was issued erroneously

If b) you'd have asked the question "How do I appeal against a parking ticket in France?"

So a) you parked illegally. Now if you can't do the time - you really shouldn't do the crime. I get really pissed with people who bitch and moan about fines they received when doing something they shouldn't!

Anyway, as Assassin mentioned, speeding fines "follow you" (although I have been flashed in France (although not in the last couple of years) and not received anything). For parking fines I suspect it depends on who issued it - a private company might give up, but if issued by the municipality they might come chasing.

I'd just pay it - and chalk it up to experience.

The worst for parking is Italy - where you have to go and but a parking ticket from a local kiosk - a bit tricky when you are in the car on your own - and you don't speak Italian and you have to explain to the parking attendent - and you just about manage to escape a ticket - after you sit him down in the nearest cafe and buy him an espresso

@dodgyken - My, some of you are having a bad day, methinks.

Don't worry, I did not take the bitching and moaning attitude criticism personally, as it is not sthing I did in that post or elsewhere.

Have a good day still.

The sun has disappeared - must be my S.A.D. kicking in!!

I have managed a driving career with only 1 parking ticket - in Switzerland! In Uster! When going for a run!

That'll teach me to be "healthy"!!
