Re: Motorcycle driving teacher in Basel
I haven't done the test here, but had an EXCELLENT course in my home country, and do have my permit here.
If I were you I would find a parking lot and practice slow riding skills (particularly, riding slowly in a circle for the traffic circles- don't forget to counter-steer, navigating obstacles ie: serpentines, quick emergency stops from 3rd gear where you downshift all the way, fully stop, and then quickly move off in a different direction, smooth accelerating and decelerating without wobbles, starting the bike on a hill, and gear-shifting in a curve.
Other things to remember:
-signal on, signal off for all turns, SHOULDER-CHECK!
-when riding keep your feet on the footpegs, not resting on the brake and shifter
-when stopped keep your left foot down, and the right on the brake in the ready-position, you can't react quickly if you're flat-footing
Hope that was helpful and not patronizing, I really appreciate the lessons from my instructors and am happy to pass them on (especially if you feel your lessons weren't adequate or well-taught).
