I've watching some wheels/rims on ebay.de recently but I know I would need a certificate (beiblatt) for CH.

Is it possible to get one?...And since I assume yes, what's the procedure for doing so?

Find the importer, bend over & do whatever he wants to supply the papers.

more like pay the importer distributor 60chf and collect the certificate a few days later

or just have your summer wheels on when you do the annual inspection...

Assuming the wheels you buy have been tested & the importer can be bothered to sell you the certificate.

From what I read around here this is not such a good idea if I'm in an accident: the insurance might not pay if I have "non-standard" wheels.

its money for doing very little, i buy lots from germany and have the certificate from CH without any issues.

On a different note you appear very negative in lots of postings tonight, try some of the blue pills and less of the red ones or put the bottle down until you are happier or stop being a tool, whichever is easier.

How exactly do I find the importer? And another one: is there usually in CH one exclusive importer for a type of wheels? Or more?

Must be the cultural shock of returning to Zurich after 36 hours in London. I guess I will be OK as I am working in Geneva next week!

I'd say that was a fairly common practice over here, whatever your nationality. Plenty of people (un)modifying their cars to make sure it gets through the MFK.

The problem of course would be if you were to have an accident with your non-standard parts and no certificate of conformity (even if they were totally safe)- you'd probably not be insured! I'm considering buying an additional set of wheels for my car; I balk at paying double what they would cost in Germant for instance. But I would get hold of a certificate of conformity from the Swiss Importer. I'm guessing that would cost around 50 CHF- that's what I had to pay for a new certificate on my sports exhaust- because the NUMBER PLATE had changed when I bought my car. joke, but that's how it works here I guess!

How long have you been living in Switzerland? things tend to happen at a relaxed rate, when they do it's usually accompanied by an invoice larger than expected!

Get someone to phone them or the head office in germany. You will get your response quicker. However I would not tell them you will buy in Germany as it's cheaper, just say you have them already and need the Swiss paper
