Any update??
Went to the ploice station and spoke with a very nice police officer.

He showed us the photos of Kristanez driving and the hire car numberplate.

She confirmed this and thought it must have been another radar on the same stretch of road on the same day. However when we checked the reference number on the original fine it turns out that it was the same one which she had already paid 3 weeks ago. I guess they were chasing it up as they thought she hadn't paid.

Nice police man took a copy oft the stamped payment slip to send to the Biel administration as proof of payment, apologised profusely several times (although it wasn't his fault) and we left very happy bunnies.

No drama at all really.

Re: Police Summons [radar infraction]

Yes, I must say that all four of the administrative people I have had to deal with in the last two days (motorcycle insurance, license renewal, police officer, and stay permit renewal) have all been exceptionally nice, patient and helpful. I'm thankful.

It was also nice to have the moral support of Belgianmum at the station - thanks again!

I made the police in the UK pay me £135 compensation after they wrongly towed away my car in 1994. The fine & tow away charge was also reimbursed. If you believe you time is worth zero thats fine, the police would have billed you for theirs if you had been in the wrong, it works both ways.

I am sure if you had asked at the time they would have given you a form to fill in, they certanly pay out if you win in court against them for loss of earnings as well as expenses.
