| | No longer able to buy ticket on SBB
what the hell is this? there is now a 90chf fine if you don't buy the ticket before hand. i feel like in switzerland the quality of life is being lowered in the sense of taking liberties sometimes. they seem to be getting more conservative in ways to secretly fine you i.e. the bus (got fined after getting on the back and lingering 2 seconds) i even feel that this even might be an anti foreign measure because....
of course any swiss would buy the ticket before hand.
a "lazy" american might wait and just buy it once he boards later.
any thoughts?
also i don't see any whores in the back of Le Matin anymore, another example of getting more conservative and caring more.

My first thought is
"Where do you come from, where you can board public transport without a ticket?" and I am glad if the newspapers stop the adverts for sex.

Better to fine people that don't buy their tickets beforehand than increase the prices to use public transport.

Have you been out of the country?
I totally agree with you though that it's a serious deterioration of customer service. |

Ok, first post I was thinking "it was all over the press and there's a big sign at the entrance of the train - tough luck". Second post I was thinking "troll".

why so harsh on the response? just made 2 points about things becoming more conservative with worse customer service. i think they should learn about customer service here from the usa. we are learning here even though its not in the culture. it would be great to have better service considering the amount of billionaires there are in this country.
once i was treated like shit and fined by a low paid protectas bus collector. more than once similar things have happened.

"Where do you come from, where you can board public transport without a ticket?" | | | | | | Quote: | | | | | . Japan | | | | | Where I lived when I rode public transport in the US (suburbs of Chicago and in Hawaii), you handed your money to the bus driver as you boarded, if you needed a "transfer ticket" (changing buses at a stop further down the road), you simply told the driver and he gave you a punch ticket.
So, this ticket machine thing here is new - also, if I remember right, you hand cash (or scan your card?) when you board the post buses here as well, if you hadn't already purchased a ticket (or have an abo).
(On the other hand, I can't think of a good reason why you'd get on the BACK of the bus knowing you still had to settle financial things with the driver, unless you hadn't intended to pay.) O M Goodness... I am sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooo tired of reading / hearing this pile of crud: | Quote: | | | | | why so harsh on the response? just made 2 points about things becoming more conservative with worse customer service. i think they should learn about customer service here from the usa. we are learning here even though its not in the culture. it would be great to have better service considering the amount of billionaires there are in this country.

Make use of it, "appreciate" it in some "I am above you" way, but respect it? Not on your life. Otherwise they'd actually PAY people there what they DESERVE!!

they better make sure the machines are working 110% of the time. because that certainly is not the case in vevey (always problems). if i have to stand on the long ass line i will surely miss my train. this is what angers me.

Then plan well enough that you have time to stand in line without missing your train.

1) you should get a smartphone and learn how to buy tickets from there
2) get a driver to take you anywhere you want, whenever you want
3) get an assistant that will get your ticket for you
4) learn to live in real world and plan your life a bit more
