"VMT company" - anyone hired them?

Hi everyone.

I'm in contact with a car seller in the UK (who recently moved from Germany) who suggested to ship the car to me in Zurich using VMTcompany, www.VMTcompany.ueuo.com at his expense. They claim to have a 5days test period in which I can examinate the mechandise (test drive the car) with a return right if I'm not ok with something. Money will be held by them (VMT) durign the five days and will be transfered to the seller only if I'm satisfied.
To me, this sound almost too good to be true which is why I wanted to know if anyone has hired this company, heard something about it, has a friend in this business - anything useful.

While I'm at it, I'm trying to inform myself about the rules for importing to Switzerland. I realise I have to pay VAT and customs. They also want to examine the car, right? What does this cost, when, and how, do you get an appointment to do it?
Best for me would be to do it in the five days and then decide wether or not to take the car if it passes the tests.

Thankful for any input/suggestions,

kind regards Cesar

Reading through some of the threads here about importing cars, unless the car you want is pretty specialised it would seem to make much more sense to buy one here. Sorry, don't know anything about the company you asked about, but it does seem quite a strange way to buy a car.

Thanks for the reply,

I agree it would be easier to just by a car here. This one is not very specialized, it does however have a good price and mileage and I just haven't been able to find 'the right combination' of these things while looking here in CH.

Perhaps someone can recommend another shipping company that does cars UK-CH. Do they have similar arrangements as the five test days?

Thanks again.
