Re: A question about the Tageskarte Gemeinde

The conditions for this obviously vary widely bewtween communes.

In my commune the cards can only be ordered by telephone or at the counter but you can look online to see what is available on each day.

It says ordered cards should be collected within 15 days of being ordered or they will be put back on sale. (no mention of fines)

They can be purchased by non residents too but the price is 40chf rather than the 35chf for residents of the commune. Residents can order them up to 3 months before the desired date but non residents can only do so for the 30 days prior to the desired date.

I just called to reserve one for this Thursday for my trip to Geneva.

Another point is that, if you order them early enough, they can be mailed out to you ... then you just have to make sure the name matches the mailing address!
This is the first time I'm seeing that you can order online and have it mailed. But the date I want is all taken for that municipality. Are there others that offer the same service?

Good question. I thought you could only buy from your Gemeinde, but a post earlier on this thread from jrspet gives me the impression that it is possible to buy from other Gemeinde.

Re: A question about the Tageskarte Gemeinde

Each gemeinde has their own rules. Some will post, many won't. Some allow "foreigners" (people living in another area) to buy tickets but only a week or two before the date, to give residents a chance to get them first.

Re: A question about the Tageskarte Gemeinde

does anybody know if with this tickets you also get a 50% discount on the mountain railways(like Jungfraujoch ?) like you get with the SBB day pass?

[i guess for a single day pass there is just one other option aside this gemeinde ticket that is ..half-fare card + day pass ..there is no GA for a day without half fare card right? ]

Yes, it acts just like any other day pass.

Re: A question about the Tageskarte Gemeinde

If you have a tageskarte, you have the equivalent of a half fare card from Wengen to Jungfraujoch (and a GA from wherever you are coming from to Wengen).
