Re: Driving theory test

Read the book thoroughly, but more importantly - practice using current CD roms/software. Questions are changed around every year and if you use a second hand or out-of-date CD, you may find yourself with a couple of tricky questions - which can each cost you >1 point.

That is exactly what I understand from it: it is more a picture matching test than an actual test of understanding of what the rules of the road are...

memorize the questions, I wasted my time studying when the questions where the same as in the booklet. I took the exam in June 2011.

Re: Driving theory test

I did it 4 years ago now, but yes I second the "memorise the questions" part instead of studying all the rules and expecting to find it easy - obviously study the rules too but some of the questions and answers seemed so obscure or borderline that it's more efficient to just memorise them.

Re: Driving theory test

Hi, I'm also looking to do my theory. I have heard of two learning options from searching the forum: Driving Today theory book, and Easy Driver CD and theory book.

Which would you recommend? I know the new 2012 edition of Easy Driver comes out on 30th April but the English version is pretty pricey. Driving Today is more reasonable but is only a book.

Where does one find said questions to memorise?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Driving theory test

I have bought the driving today booklet and a Fahrschule CD. With the CD there was a theorie24.ch free membership card which was valid for about a week. That was enough time to memorize the tricky questions.
One exam I had to cancel because I was sick and I still had to pay the price of the exam, so be careful with that.
I think you can cancel the exam 4 days before.
Be prepared that the phrasing of the questions and answers differ from the book/CD/online questions/answers but only slightly so no reason to panic
I have just passed a month ago
You will get the result immediately if you go the inspector and ask him

Good luck for all of you with the exam!!!

Re: Driving theory test

I have just come back after my theory test. I had made only 1 mistake (14 are allowed). I went thru the easy driver cd and took the practice test at least 6 or 7 times, there are 15 test for practice. and then you can take the intermediate and full test. it does not take long 15-20 minutes max but if u go thru it over a week or so it is good because you will understand how many mistakes you are making and if you have not grasped the rules or basic understading of traffic rules.
almost 80% questions were identical to the cd that i have been practicing upon.
