ET offset number for wheels

Hi,
I am looking for the summer wheels for my VW GOLF. The ET offset the wheels is 38mm. I know slightly different offset would also be fine. But I dont know exactly what is the range of ET offset that will be suitable. How can I determine the possible range of ET offset?
My car is VW GOLF IV , 1.6 FSI .2006. and its engine code is 'BAD'..

Thanks for your help
H

Are you sure it is not a Golf V, if from 2006?

Re: ET offset number for wheels

check the COC for the wheel, it lists all the cars that it is certified for, best way to check is to find the EU conformity number for your and check it's on the wheel COC.
